Aspen Institute - William Randolph Hearst Scholarship For Minority Students

Eligibility

Description

The William Randolph Hearst Scholarship seeks to introduce a diverse group of students to issues relating to philanthropy, volunteerism,  and non-profit organizations.  Awards are nonrenewable.

American School Health Association (ASHA) Scholarship

Eligibility

Be a junior, senior or graduate student enrolled full-time at an institution of higher education; Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0  scale; Have a declared major related to one of the following areas of specializations:  School Health  Education, School Nursing, or Pediatric or Adolescent Medicine or Dentistry.  Other school health specializations (nutrition, counseling, etc.) will be considered only if the application is accompanied by a letter from the student's academic advisor written on official letterhead and stating the academic  program’s relationship to school health; Have not received an ASHA scholarship in the past.

Association Of Schools Of Allied Health Professions

Eligibility

Must be enrolled in a college or school that is a member of the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions. Must have completed at least one term at that institution. Must be enrolled in a career entry-level, degree-granting program.

Colorado Community Health Network

Eligibility

Colorado Educational Services And Development Association (CESDA) Diversity Scholarship

Eligibility

Applicant must be a first generation student, or member of an underrepresented ethnic or racial minority, and/or show financial need; must be a resident of Colorado.

Description         

The State of Colorado funds a number of different scholarships. The majority of scholarships are administered by colleges and universities that participate in the state-aid programs. It is recommended that you contact the Financial Aid Office of the college or university for which you are applying directly to.
The CESDA Diversity Scholarship have given out over $20,000 dollars to underrepresented, economically and disadvantaged students from various high schools throughout the State of Colorado.

Colorado Rural Health Center

Eligibility

Only rural facilities and communities are eligible to apply. By “rural” for this program, we mean outside of one of Colorado’s 17 metropolitan counties. The Board of Directors will occasionally consider compelling applications from smaller, isolated communities within the larger metropolitan counties.

Description         

Marva Jean Jackson (MJJ) Rural Community Health Scholarships: Small grants that help pay for the training and/or education of a local healthcare provider are available for rural facilities or community groups. CRHC will match, two-to-one, the support provided up to $1000 a year. Awards are made for one year, but applicants can reapply in subsequent years.

Kaiser Family Foundation-Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholars Program

US Air Force

Eligibility

Be a citizen of the United States. While on scholarship you’ll spend 45 days on active duty in the Air Force and once you graduate you’ll serve active duty: four years for a four-year scholarship and three years for a three year scholarship.

Eligibility

Any student member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants who is attending an ARC-PA accredited
Program and is in the professional phase of his/her program is eligible to apply.

Description

The PAF has awarded more than 750 scholarships totaling more that $1,000,000.00 to deserving PA students. Applicants will be reviewed and judged on the basis of financial need, academic record, community and professional activities, and future goals as a physician assistant.  Scholarships are in $2000 denominations.

Colorado State University – Boettcher Opportunity Award

Eligibility

Scholarships are gift aid and do not have to be repaid. Scholarships are awarded based on different factors including merit, financial need, and talent. Most scholarships awarded by Colorado State University require recipients to be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents.

Description

Boettcher Opportunity Award Funded by the Boettcher Foundation, the scholarship was established to benefit under-represented groups on campus. Recipients will meet the following criteria:
1. Residents of the State of Colorado and U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
2. First generation college students (neither parent has received a bachelor's degree).
3. Sophomores, juniors, or seniors without a first bachelor's degree.
4. Enrolled full-time in any major with a cumulative 3.0 Colorado State University GPA.
5. Taking courses generally accepted as "academic" and making progress towards their degree.
The $3,000 annual award is renewable provided students maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA and provide an annual report to the Boettcher Foundation detailing their academic year experience. Typically, five $3,000 scholarships are awarded.

University of Colorado Health Sciences Center

Eligibility

Students must be registered for at least 5 credit hours per semester to meet the financial aid qualifications as a part-time student.

Description

Small amounts of scholarship monies sometimes become available for NTPD program participants meeting scholarship requirements. Information on scholarships will be distributed through the UCHSC e-mail accounts and the News and Announcements section of the NTPD website. Scholarships available to the following schools: Dentistry, Graduate School, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy.  There are quite a few scholarships available.

University of Northern Colorado

Eligibility

Be admitted to UNC prior March 1.  Complete and submit the UNC Universal Scholarship Application before March 1.  Students are encouraged to apply for admission by February 1 to receive maximum consideration

Description

Scholarships are normally awarded on merit or talent and do not have to be paid back. UNC offers a variety of scholarships and our scholarship application process is fast and easy. Incoming freshman and transfer students must be admitted to UNC before March 1, to be considered for many of the merit scholarships for the current academic year. We’ll use the information you provide on your admissions application and on your high school or college transcripts to determine your eligibility for some of our scholarships. If you want to apply for scholarships offered through the UNC Foundation, the UNC Universal Scholarship Application is available online in Ursa. The application is usually available from December until March 1.
