Rural Peer Assistance Network (RPAN)

Field Sunset

The goal of the community training curriculum is to equip local leaders as skilled and trained listeners who can support their neighbors, friends, and families through difficult times.

After completion of ‘Running on All Cylinders’ and ‘Peer Listener’ training modules, community leaders will not only be better equipped to support the mental health and substance use needs of their community, but they will also be able to train others in their network in crisis intervention and emotional coping strategies.

This will facilitate a culture of caring that extends beyond the reach of RPAN outreach workers, forming a robust community safety net for rural areas.
