Service Learning
Health professions students from the University of Colorado’s:
along with students from Red Rocks Community College and Rocky Vista University, participate in service-learning activities, an exciting, hands-on approach to education during their clinical rotation or clerkship in the CAHEC region. These activities are coordinated by CAHEC and may include:
Health screenings
Delivering various health-related presentations Promoting health careers to K-12 students Health fairs The core concept behind the service learning approach to education is that both the students and the community members benefit: students take an active role in the community as a meaningful provider and the community benefits by having concerns, needs and hopes addressed. |
