About Us
CAHEC, headquartered in Greeley, CO is a 501
(c) (3), not for profit organization, founded in 1978 as one
of five similar centers throughout Colorado. Together, they
make up the Colorado
Area Health Education System.
The Colorado System is also affiliated with
the University of Colorado Medical School which is an important
participant in many of its programs.
For more than 30 years CAHEC has undertaken health care initiatives
that respond to the specific needs of Northeastern Colorado.
As these needs and the scope of the health care field have
changed over the past three decades, the programs have changed
as well. However, the organization’s primary goals have always
been:
- to help health care professionals provide
better services,
- to entice people to choose health care
careers, and
- pursue them in the region and to help
residents enhance their own health and well being
CAHEC’s administrative team consists of an
executive director who is responsible for all aspects of the
Center’s day to day operations as well as strategic planning
plus a staff of full time and part time professionals who
direct specific programming and administrative functions.
CAHEC is governed by a nine member board of directors. These
men and women are academic, government and health care professionals
who are ultimately responsible for all aspects of the Center’s
operations and planning.
