Careers Institute
June 22-27, 2008

The Colorado Area Health Education Center (AHEC) System, comprised of (1) Program Office and (5) Regional Centers (see information in left margin), is pleased to present the 2008 Summer Health Careers Institute.

THE PURPOSE
To encourage high school students with interests and abilities in math and science to pursue health careers.
To provide these students with information and experience which will help them make intelligent educational career choices.

THE PROGRAM
During this six day program, students will explore various medical health professions as well as have the opportunity to tour healthcare facilities; discuss career options with professors and health practitioners; and shadow a health professional during the trip to the University of Colorado Health Science Center “job shadow day” in Aurora/Denver.
There will be daily trips throughout the Institute. Colorado AHEC provides room and board, meals and all activities at no expense to the students. Housing is at local college campus dorm setting (Colorado Christian University) with 24hour supervision by AHEC counselors and volunteers.
